Do you "Blog" or are you a "Blogger"?

There is a very important difference... I just happen to blog, among many other things I do, I am NOT a "Blogger" ... In my opinion ... 

You might be a "Blogger" if...

- You are Consistent; you make regular and timely posts (Me- I blog when the mood strikes, I have 6 posts still in draft form and 12 more ideas in my head that may or may not ever be posted... balance and consistency have eluded me all my life. And there is also that perfectionism thingy)

- You are Original; you formulate your own new and creative ideas & thoughts; sharing them for the benefit and thought stimulation of others (Me- I do enjoy writing my own stuff but I also collect other people's stuff to share {always crediting the source}... 'cause frankly sometimes others say what I want to say... only better!)

- You are Focused; you have one or two passions you specialize in.  (Me- I am all over the map... as in my life... everything flows and melds together.)

Not everyone can ... or should be a "Blogger" ... but everyone that chooses to can "Blog"...

Nope, I am not a "Blogger" ... but that is OK! :)

Social Media: are you hesitant to "give it away"?

One of the basic "personality traits" of social media is that you must not hesitate to "give it away". The foundation of building relationships is based upon the GENUINE unconditional desire to share your time & talent and trust that your giving will eventually come full circle.

If you are holding your information tight and close to your chest; only sharing when you get something out of it... this is not the venue for you. As many many articles have reinforced it is not about maintaining control; to participate you must listen and well... participate!

My husband thinks I am crazy; always having a passion to give more than I have gotten, I have never suffered for it (well once, but that is another story, for another day). No wonder my love affair with social media has been a whirlwind romance (don't tell... said husband referred to above)... the quality of the relationships and the giving of information has made me fall deeper and deeper in the bliss that is social media.

Interacting with exceptional individuals such as; #mashable, #aplusk,#dannybrown,#amycourser ... among many others that give freely and often... has reinforced this basic value.

Everyday is a new adventure, a new relationship ...so keep giving... share and share often...

Waiting to Blog until you have the perfect blog?

"... Started blogging and stuck to continue?... Guilty! As a recovering perfectionist; why would this be an exception.
